Verbier is located at an altitude of
1500 metres, in the French-speaking part of the Valais and
in the heart of
the sublime chain of the Alps. The high plateau of
Verbier benefits from exceptional sunshine since it
faces south-west, and opens onto a magnificent Alpine panorama
ranging from the Combins massif to that of
the Dents du Midi, and including Mont Blanc. The resort itself
consists exclusively of wooden, chalet-style buildings, which
lend it all the charm of a large village.
Easily accessible, Verbier is situated only 250 kilometres
from the Basel border and 170 kilometres from Geneva international
airport. It is also less than 25 kilometres from the main
Valais motorway.
The resort
of Verbier has an incomparable skiing area. Known as the "4
Vallées", this consists of a network of 410 kilometres
of runs and nearly 100 modern ski lifts. This means that it
is possible to enjoy many days of skiing and still find something
new - without lengthy waiting times. Created at altitudes of
between 1500 and 3330 metres, the runs enjoy exceptional snow
conditions from November until April, and allow enthusiasts
of all levels to find ideal runs.
